Separation Agreement
A separation agreemtent is for couples who may or may not be married who intend to separate. The division of finances and other arrangments are set out in a legal document. Your lawyer will obtain the information needed from you and create an agreement for your signature.
Whats included in the fixed fee?
You will be allocated a personal legal advisor, who you will have a direct email and telephone line to. Your lawyer will obtain the information needed from you and create an agreement for your signature.
The fee includes our work in:
- Obtaining the information we need to be able to draft the agreement
- Telling you of issues you might wish to consider
- Telling you what financial information is needed and putting that in order (you will need to obtain the information yourself) See important note below.
- Drafting the agreement
- Arranging for correct signature
- Storing the original agreement
Why fixed fees...
By paying a fixed fee at the start of your case you have certainty about the costs involved. The alternative is to pay an hourly rate (currently (£120 plus VAT) for the time your lawyer spends on your case. We believe you should pay for the work done not the time that it takes to do it.
